I am a singer, songwriter, performer, teacher, author, and healer.

I began my career singing with Neil Young on Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. My band had the 11th video on MTV. But, ten years ago I began the work that I am the proudest of.

I created songwriting healing programs for people who had experienced trauma giving them the opportunity to tell their stories in song. Songbird Sings is the Umbrella for my programs…A Woman’s Voice, Giving Youth A Voice, Songs For Peace and Healing, Songs from Inside (prison workshops) many more.

Most of the women and children that I work with are survivors of childhood and domestic abuse, violence, substance abuse, mental health issues, physical health issues. Through the healing power of music, they are able to tell their story in song. Connection and community are built as we come together. Through the powerful combination of lyrics and music, participants begin to find their own voice and the key to their own healing capabilities.

Now I am on a mission to transform lives through the art of songwriting.  It is my hope that songbirdsings.org will spread this crucial message that we must stop ignoring and denying the effects of childhood abuse, domestic abuse and violence in all it’s forms.
